Bucket Flush is a documentary that follows a slice of the life of the Philadelphia punk band Bucket Flush. Rob Shit, Black Jon, Dean and John Wood give insight into how they live their lives, and why they choose to live the way they want to.

Freelance Work for the Rowan Internship Outreach Team

This past semester, I worked for the Rowan Internship Outreach Team (RIOT) as a freelance video producer and assisted in the development of their website. The finished project is available here, as a page for our client, Sturtz Construction.

The goal of the project was to demonstrate to small businesses how they could promote themselves on the Internet using either free or inexpensive tools. The project centered around inexpensive, yet professional looking video production using free software and consumer hardware, and using free web tools like WordPress, Youtube and Twitter to promote and distribute information about the company.

The project was headed by Prof. Bill Wolff of Rowan University.

Up All Night Epic Movie 2

I have been selected to be one of the camera operators for Up All Night‘s “Epic Movie 2,” the second of Up All Night‘s season ending “movie” episodes.

The episode, a departure from UAN’s late-night talk-show style, is a scripted story that is shot mostly from the perspective of the host and co-host as characters behind the scenes. Also, in keeping with UAN’s season, the episode is shot entirely using handheld (specifically the Panasonic HVX200) or shoulder mounted (the Panasonic HPX500) cameras running at 720p.

As of this time, the video is unavailable. It will be displayed, embedded or linked to as soon as it is made available.

Technical director for Up All Night

This semester, I have been selected as the technical director for Up All Night. Technical changes include a move to widescreen (the only RTN show to do so), and shooting all out-of-studio segments in HD, with the intent of distributing them over the campus cable network as letterboxed SD shows, but podcasting them in their full resolution.

A sample of the show will be made available as early as possible.

The Perfect Girl

As a final project in Film Production, we were to produce a longer film using the techniques mastered in class. I was assigned the role of camera assistant, and again, we were given the Bolex 16mm camera to shoot, and everyone was to edit their own cut using a digital transfer. What is included is my edit of the film.

Traitors to GeneCo

For TV Production II, we were to shoot a short documentary film, and my group covered an aspiring Repo! The Genetic Opera shadowcast, and attempted to detail the pitfalls they faced while highlighting their devotion, and explaining why they are so devoted.

I was assigned as editor, in a group of three, and created all graphics used in the production, functioned as a camera operator, and set up much of the lighting.

Blind Date

As part of a Film Production project, we were required to produce a short film using a limited amount of 16mm film stock, and any software we had at our disposal. Our requirements included obtaining a specific set of shots, while telling a complete story.

For this project, I was tapped as the Director of Photography, and was responsible for framing the shots, determining the appropriate level of exposure, and operating the Bolex 16mm camera. I also produced all the graphics used. Each member of our team was also required to create their own edited cut from a digital transfer of the film. For my cut I also composed my own music. What is shown here is my edited version.
